Privacy Policy for Photo Recovery – Restore Deleted Videos
Effective Date: February 21, 2026
At **Faiq Ahmed4598**, we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal data while using our app, **Photo Recovery – Restore Deleted Videos**.
This app helps users recover lost or deleted photos and videos from their Android device storage and includes a module to remove unwanted screenshots — all processing happens **locally on your device**.
This Privacy Policy explains what information (if any) we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and your rights regarding that information. By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be made available inside the app or on the Google Play Store listing, and your continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
## 1. Information We Collect
The app is designed to function almost entirely offline and locally. We collect **very limited** information, and only in specific cases:
### a. Device Storage Access and File Data (Processed Locally Only)
- **Permissions used**:
- `READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE` (limited to Android 10 and below — `maxSdkVersion="29"`)
- `MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE` (“All files access” – required for deep scanning on Android 11+)
- **What happens**:
The **Photo Recovery** and **Video Recovery** modules scan your device’s internal and external storage (including hidden/system/non-indexed folders) to locate remnants of deleted photos and videos.
The **Screenshots Remover** module scans typical screenshot folders to help you identify and delete unwanted screenshots.
- **Important**:
- All scanning, file analysis, thumbnail generation, and recovery happen **entirely on your device**.
- We **never** upload, store remotely, collect, view, or share any of your photos, videos, screenshots, file paths, metadata, or file contents.
- Recovered files are saved only to locations **you** choose on your own device.
### b. Crash Logs & Diagnostic Data (via Firebase)
- **Permission used**: `INTERNET` (only to send crash reports when needed)
- **What we collect**:
When the app crashes or encounters a serious error, **Firebase Crashlytics** automatically collects basic, non-personal diagnostic information, which may include:
- App version
- Device manufacturer & model
- Android version
- Crash stack trace & error type
- **What we do NOT collect**: names, emails, phone numbers, precise location, photos/videos, file contents, advertising IDs, or any personally identifiable information.
- **Purpose**: improve app stability, fix bugs, and enhance performance.
Crash data is sent **only** when a crash occurs and internet is available.
### c. No Other Personal Data Collected
We do **not** collect or receive:
- Your name, email, phone number, or any account information
- Your location (GPS or IP-based)
- Photos, videos, or any media files
- Usage analytics beyond crash reporting
- Advertising identifiers or tracking data
- Any data from third-party logins or social media
## 2. How We Use Information
We use the very limited information we receive **only** for:
- Enabling the app’s core features (local photo/video recovery & screenshot management)
- Diagnosing and fixing crashes and stability issues (via anonymized Firebase crash reports)
- Complying with legal obligations (if any)
**We do not**:
- Use your data for advertising
- Build user profiles
- Sell, rent, or trade any data
- Share your photos/videos/files with anyone
## 3. Sharing of Information
We share information **only** in these very limited situations:
- **Firebase / Google LLC** — crash reports are sent to Firebase Crashlytics (Google) for processing. Google acts only as our data processor under strict agreements. No media files or personal content is ever sent.
- **Legal obligation** — if required by law, court order, or valid government request.
- **Business transfer** — in the extremely unlikely event of merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (only crash-log data would be involved).
**We do not sell data. We do not share data with advertisers.**
## 4. Data Security
- Local file scanning and recovery depend on the security features already present on your device (screen lock, encryption, etc.).
- Crash reports are transmitted using **encrypted HTTPS** connections.
- Crash data stored on Firebase servers is protected with industry-standard security controls and is retained only for a limited time (usually up to 90 days).
## 5. Data Retention
- Your photos, videos, and files → **never retained** by us (processing is 100% local and temporary).
- Crash reports → retained on Firebase servers for up to **90 days** for diagnostic purposes, then automatically deleted.
## 6. Your Rights & Choices
- You can revoke storage permissions or internet permission at any time in your device settings (this may limit or disable some features).
- You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of any crash-report data associated with your device by contacting us.
- We honor rights under **GDPR**, **CCPA/CPRA**, and other applicable privacy laws where they apply.
## 7. Children’s Privacy
**Photo Recovery – Restore Deleted Videos** is not directed to children under 13 years of age (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
## 8. International Data Transfers
Crash reports may be transferred to and processed in the United States (Firebase data centers). We rely on standard contractual clauses and Google’s data processing protections for such transfers.
